the labyrinth

"You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present" - Alaska.
Green, John. Finding Alaska. New York: Penguin Group, 2005. 54. Print.

It is great to have a life goal, something that you're working for. But at the same time, as Alaska says, you can't use the future as means to escape the present. You have to live in the moment, not everything is about making a better future for yourself, because everyone should have a great present too. The way I look at it, living in the moment is making a better future for yourself, because when you grow old you [hopefully] won't have any regrets about things you should/should not have done.
